Local firefighters recently participated in live fire training exercises at Spirit of St. Louis Airport in Chesterfield, Missouri. Organized by the Monarch Fire Protection District, the multi-day event featured realistic aircraft fire simulations using a mobile crash simulator provided by the University of Missouri Fire and Rescue Training Institute . Firefighters from various departments engaged in both classroom instruction and hands-on drills, practicing critical skills in extinguishing fuel fires and conducting rescue operations. These exercises, held biennially, are essential for maintaining FAA compliance and ensuring preparedness for real-life aviation emergencies
